Uttar Pradesh tops in online obscene cases

  • The number of cases for the publication of obscene content case online in the country was declined
  • 758 cases were registered and among 738, 371 cases registered from Uttar Pradesh
  • Karantaka-72, Rajasthan-55, Kerala-46, Punjab-45 and Maharashtra-17 were registered
  • In 2013 Andra Pradesh registered the maximum with 234 cases which declined to five in 2014
  • Current survey of 2014 758 Cases filed and 191 were solved 313 pending for trial and 491 were arrested

Goa terminates JICA project Director

  • Goa Government sacked JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) water project director A.M Wachasunder
  • The termination is based on the preliminary inquiry report of the crime Branch of the state in the Louis Berger bribery case
  • The action against him is to ensure a free and fair probe in the case which is in progress

Pope Sign up for World Youth Day

  • Pope Francis became the first person registered for next year's world youth day festival
  • The next edition of the global meeting of ctholic youth will be held next July in Krakow, Poland
  • It was organised in Rio de Janerio in 2013 after elecition of Pope Francis

Police verification of passports set to go online in Bangaluru

  • Bangaluru is the first city in India to get the police verification online as a part of implementation of Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS)
  • By implementing the new system applicant coulg get the passport in 10 days
  • In the current situation police verification takes major cause for delay in the entire process
  • The access to the applicants history made easy to both police and passport office
