Governor Nikki Haley Signs Bill to Remove Confederate Flag in South Carolina
- Indian-American South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has signed into law the bill to remove Confederate flag
- The confederate flag is considered as a symbol of nation's racist past from the State Capitol
- South Carolina's House of Representatives had passed the vote with 94-20, more than the two-thirds vote needed for approval, paving the way for the removal of the flag
- The flag will be a history from July 10 and will then be taken to the 'relic room' of a military museum in Columbia

- Saudi Arabia's Prince Saud al-Faisal who was the world's longest-serving foreign minister has died aged 75 on July 10
- Prince Saud, who was born in 1940, died in the United States

India, US to create Rs 50 crore fund to promote clean energy
- India and the US created an agreement to set up a Rs 50-crore fund to support clean energy by providing financial support to develop and test innovative products, systems and business models
- The fund will support the Promoting Energy Access Through Clean Energy (PEACE) track of the US-India Partnership to Advance Clean Energy (PACE) to accelerate the commercialisation of off-grid clean energy through early-stage grant funding grants to develop and test innovative products, systems, and business models
- The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by New and Renewable Energy Secretary Upendra Tripathy from Indian side and United States Ambassador to Richard Verma from USA side
- The Government of India and the United States of America have announced the launch of a new initiative Promoting Energy Access through Clean Energy (PEACE)
