01 October 2014 : 
Mary Kom, Manipur's sports women wons gold medal in boxing: 
Another glorious thing is she becoming the first Indian woman boxer to win gold at Asian Games. She defeated Kazhakisthan's Zhaina Shekerbekova in the final of the flyweight section. She won a silver medal at the 2008 Asian Women's boxing Championship in India.

02 October 2014 : 
Clean India from today by Narendra Modi: 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a five year clean India campaign or "Swachh Bharat Mission" on 2nd October 2014. The campaign will be started on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

03 October 2014 :
Prime Minister Narendra Modi address nation regularly on radio : 
PM used his first radio broadcast to the nation deliver a talk aiming at making Indians recognise their abilities and workable suggestion that would contribute to nation building.

ISRO to launch Canadian satellite: 
Based on Russia-Ukraine problems Canada has decided to sign a contract with Antrix, the ISRO commercial arm for launch a satellite.

Talks fail to resolve LoC crisis : 
At the border of J&K, Pakistani troop violate  the ceasefire agreement. Pakistan attacks the border targeting 40 Indian outpost and injured nine civilians.

Jayalalithaa's bail plead rejected at Karnataka high court : 
Karnataka High Court rejected Jayalalitha's bail plea for suspending the four year imprisonment by the trial court on September 27 in the disproportionate assets case. Also, the court rejected the plea for the other convicts in the case V.K Sasikala, V.N Sudhakaran, J.Elavarasi.

George Town appoints Hindu Priest:
America's prestigious Georgetown University has appointed Pratima Dharm, as first Hindu priest to serve its Hindu students. The move welcomed by the students of this top private research university.

Patrick Modiano is a French novelist and recipient of the 2014 Nobel Prize in Literature “for the art of memory with which he has evoked the most ungraspable human destinies and unlocked the life-world of the occupation.”

Mark Zuckenberg visits India : 
India is not just a market but hopes to enable the development of tools and ideas that can be useful for the entire world. Mr. Zuckenberg announced a million dollar fund to start an innovation challenge in India.

Kailash Sathyarthi child activist from India and Malala Yousafzai who risked her life to wage a campaign for girls education in Pakistan are the winners of the year 2014 for Nobel prize.

More than 1.3 Lakh people were in the relief camp in Andra Pradesh.

Jean Tirole wins Nobel : 
French economist Jean Tirole won nobel prize for the economics for research on market power and regulation that has helped policy makers understant how to deal with industries dominated by a few companies.

SEBI bans DLF chief : 
SEBI imposed ban on DLF chief and its top executives from accessing the capital market for three years.

India loses poultry WTO dispute : 
India broke WTO rules by blocking U.S poultry import because of unsubstantiated bird flu fears.

Maharashtra and Haryana polls : 
Maharashtra and Haryana will go to the polls in a single phase election on October 15.

Aravind Subramanian is Chief Economic Advisor : 
IMF Economist Aravind Subramanian is apponted as  Chief Economic Advisor and Rajiv Mehrishi as Finance Secretary. 

Another success with PSLV-C26 : 
The PSLV-C26 lobbed the 1,425 Kg Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System satellite into its precise orbit.

Sub-sonic Cruise Missile : 
India's first designed and developed long range sub-sonic cruise missile Nirbhaya was successfully flight tested in Balasore, Odisha.

J Letha has been appointed as CUSAT new Vice Chancellor.

19 October 2014 
First BJP CM in Maharashtra : 
Out of 288 BJP wins 122 seats in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena and Congress got only 63 and 42 respectively. BJP needs allies to form a government. 

Historic Win in Haryana : 
Out of 90 seats BJP wins 47 seats and got the majority to rule the state. This is the first time in the history.

Ordinance were mooted to acquire land of 214 coal block mines whose allocation were quashed by supreme court last month.

WHO declares Nigeria Ebola free:
WHO declared officially  Nigeria Ebola free but warned that remained alert as long as the virus was raging elsewhere in west Africa.

Oscar Pistorius, Olympic runner has been sentenced to five years in prison for killing his girl friend Reeva Steenkamp.

Manohar Lal Khattar become 21st Chief Minister of Haryana.

PM visit J&K and announced a package of Rs.745 Cr. for the reconstruction of flood-ravaged houses and hospital in Jammu & Kashmir.

India signs up for China's Asian Bank:
China led 21 nation including India i forming a financial front in the form of the form of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

Indian girl got Panda Award:
Ashwik Kapur of Kolkata won the panda award as part of the annual wild  film festival held at UK. She is the first Indian women to win the award.
