Renowned American mathematician John Nash passes away


  • American mathematician John Nash passed away on 24 May 2015.
  • He was renowned for works in game theory, differential geometry and partial differential equations.
  • In 1994, he shared Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences with game theorists Reinhard Selten and John Harsanyi and also he was awarded the Abel Prize along with Louis Nirenberg.

Indian boxers won three Gold at World Junior Women's boxing Championship



  • Indian boxers on 23 May 2015 won three Gold medals and two silver medals at World Junior Women's boxing Championship. 
  • The event was held at Taipei in Taiwan.

  Sakshi (54kg)

  Silver Medal Winners are : 
  Soniya (48kg)

Libyans Arrest 600 Europe-bound Illegal Migrants



  • Libyan authorities today arrested about 600 illegal migrants from African countries who were planning to sail to Europe, a coastguard official said.
  • Libya has a coastline of 1,770 kilometres (more than 1,000 miles) and has long been a stepping stone for Africans seeking a better life in Europe.

In World First, Ireland Says 'Yes' to Gay Marriage

  • Irish voters backed legalizing gay marriage announced  electoral officials Saturday 
  • 62.1 percent of Irish voters saying "yes" to changing the nation's constitution to allow gay marriage.
  • Ireland is the first country to approve gay marriage in a popular national vote. Nineteen other countries have legalized the practice.
