WHO alert : India to check Zika
- The Union Health Minsitry appointed the National Centre for Disease Control as the nodal agency for investigation of any outbreak of the viral infection
- WHO named 22 countries and territories in the Americas where local transmission of the Zika virus has been reported
- The virus is Transmitted through the bite of an infected Aedes mosquito which also transfer the infections of Dengue and Chikungunya
- The Virus causes Microcephaly(little head) in the newborn baby

- Court indicated the reconsideration of the constitutionality of the section 377
- The Section 377 of IPC criminalising the consensual sexual act of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT)
- The Naz foundation, NewDelhi Based Non-Governmental Organisation submitted the petition

- Introduced in the colonial era, Criminalises the sexual act against the order of nature
- The section allows if any intercourse against the order of nature with any animal,man or woman shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend upto 10 years also liable to fine
