- Development of Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) project in Gujarat, the cabinet committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the construction of infrastructure worth about Rs 2784.83 crore for a project that is being envisaged as a “Smart City
- This infrastructure will be created within a 22.5 square kilometre “Activation Area” of the DSIR located on the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) in Ahmedabad district, stated a PIB release
- The approved approved by the cabinet committee comprises of roads, water and sewage treatment plants, Common effluent treatment plant and other services
Pradeep Kumar Sinha to be next Cabinet Secretary
- Pradeep Kumar Sinha, a 1977-batch IAS officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, will be the next Union Cabinet Secretary, succeeding Ajit Seth in the top job
- The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Friday cleared the appointment of Sinha, who is currently serving as the Union Power Secretary
- Sinha will assume charge with effect from June 13 and will have a tenure of two years
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley inaugurates New Bank Note Paper Line unit in Madhya Pradesh
- Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley inaugurated the New Bank Note Paper Line unit of 6000 metric ton capacity at Security Paper Mill in Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh.
- Capable of manufacturing all denominations of bank note paper, including in the higher denomination of 1000 rupees with 3-dimentional toned water mark.
- By commissioning this plant, India will become self-reliant in producing Bank Note Paper for higher denominations.
