Assam included in a bill for land swap with Bnagaldesh

*Based on the new bill passed by the centre Assam losses 268 acres of land.

*The Constitution Bill of 2013 which allow the operationalisation of the 1974   of India-Bangaldesh Land Boundary Agreement was cleared by the Cabinet.
*The state position has been in favour of swapping 268 acres in lieu of 714 acres with Bangladesh.

*The bill will be likely to introduce in the Rajya Sabha on the next day.

*The centre had declared a revised bill on April 29.

Indian Army gets Akash missile

*The army inducted the first regiment of the indigenously-developed Akash surface to air missile system capable of targeting a multitude of aerial threats up to a range of 25 km.

*The Akash has been developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation and is being built by Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL)

*Akash is fully automated and can function in all weather conditions. It can take down targets as far as 25 km and flying at altitude of 20 metres.

40 Migrants died  when their boat sank off

*Nearly 40 migrants died when their boat sank off the coast of Italy.

*Survivors reported that there were 137 people on the boat.

*Italian leaders anticipate a record number of arrivals on their southern region shores.
