Sundar Pichai appointed as chief executive of Google

• Chennai born Mr. Sundar Pichai appointed as the chief executive officer of google under the new structure
• He completed BTech from IIT Kharangpur M.S from Stanford and MBA from Wharton school of Business 
• Mr, Pichai Joined google in 2004 and worked on google tool bar
• In 2008 he led the launch of Google Chrome browser and google chromebook and chrome OS
• 2014 Mr. Pichai was promoted as the Product Chief 
• On  August 11 2015 Pichai is appointed as the CEO of new organisation Alphabet 

Prem Bhatia award to Shuhaini Haidar

• The Prem Bhatia Memorial award for the best Political Reporting 2015 was awarded to Suhasini Haidar
• Ms. Haidar was awarded for reporting on and analysing variety of conflicts and surges around the world
• The award caries a cash price of Rs. 2 lakh and citation
• Priyanka Kakodar also awarded for the excellence in the environmental and development reporting for her series reporting in the Maharashtra's agrarian crisis and distressed 

Sania Mirza to be conferred Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna

• Sania Mirza on Tuesday became only the second tennis player to be recommended for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna
• Sania, currently ranked world number one in women's doubles, scripted history by becoming the first Indian to clinch a women's doubles
• Cricketer Rohit Sharma and ace shooter Jitu Rai were among the 17 sportspersons picked for this year's Arjuna awards
• The Khel Ratna carries a prize money of Rs 7.5 lakh along with a citation, while the Arjuna awards come with a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and a citation
