Seshasayee Replaces Kamath as Infosys Chairman

  • IT giant Infosys appointed Board member R Seshasayee Non-Executive Chairman in place of K V Kamath
  • Seshasayee, whose appointment is with immediate effect, has been an Independent Director on the company's Board since January 2011
  • Seshasayee's other board positions include Non-Executive Vice-Chairman of Ashok Leyland and Chairman of IndusInd Bank.

India and Bangladesh Sign Historic Deal 

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bangladesh to seal a land pact which will finally allow tens of thousands of people living in border enclaves to choose their nationality after decades of stateless limbo.
  • PM Modi is also expected to sign a raft of trade and transport deals and meet Bangladesh's embattled opposition leader Khaleda Zia.
  • Under the agreement, the countries will exchange territories: 111 enclaves will be transferred to Bangladesh and 51 to India.

Bus Services Between India, Bangladesh Flagged Off

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee flagged off the Kolkata-Dhaka-Agartala and Dhaka-Shillong-Guwahati bus services in Dhaka.
  • There by Kolkata-Dhaka-Agartala service will reduce the travel time between the capitals of India's West Bengal and Tripura states by one-third

Sharmila Nicollet Tied 29th in Hong Kong Golf

  • Sharmila Nicollet moved up the leaderboard to tied 29th and made the cut comfortably at the Hong Kong Ladies Open
  • She has made a comeback from injuries, shot 75 despite three late bogeys in the second round
