Jayalalithaa acquitted in Disproportionate  case 

*The Karnataka high court  judgment and acquitted AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa and her three  associates in an 18-year-old disproportionate assets case.

*The order paves the way for her return to power as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu after she was forced to step down when she was convicted by a Bengaluru trial court.

*The AIADMK chief, along with aides N Sasikala, VN Sudhakaran and J Elasvarasi, was held guilty of holding unaccounted for income during her tenure as chief minister from 1991-96 by the trial court.

National Technology Day observed in India

*The National Technology Day was observed on May 11

*Every year, National Technology Day is celebrated across India on 11 May to memorize the anniversary of Shakti, the Pokhran nuclear test held on 11 May 1998.

* The day gave  importance of science in day to day life and motivates students to adopt science as the career option

Vikas Gowda Wons gold Medal in discus throw Jamaican International Meet


*India discus thrower Vikas Gowda has won gold in the Jamaican International Invitation meet held at Kingston on 10 May 2015.

*The reigning Commonwealth Games champion and 2014 Asian Games silver medallist, has breached the 65m three times recently.
