Central Government announces road projects for North-East
* Centre announced Rs. 20,000 crore road projects for north-east besides developing inland waterways and the amount will be released in end of the year
* According to the centre these will be spread across the region for improving the infrastructure, which will help the economy of the North-East
* Currently, Rs 31,025 crore worth of roads running into over 3,700 km are under development, which are being constructed by 10 players through 104 projects.
Jaitley to leave for Azerbaijan tomorrow to attend ADB Meet
* Finance Minister Arun Jaitley leave for Azerbaijan to attend the annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Baku.
* The four-day 48th annual meeting of the ADB began in Baku
* Jaitley, according to sources, is likely to return on May 5 and he will also have to get the Finance Bill, 2015 approved in the Rajya Sabha which is approved by LS
Bank of India cuts lending rate by 0.25 Per Cent
* State-owned Bank of India reduced the base rate or the benchmark lending rate by 0.25 per cent to 9.95 per cent which will make auto, home and other loans cheaper.
* The new rate will come into effect from May 4.
* Several other banks including the market leader State Bank of India (SBI) and private sector lenders like ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have cut lending rates by 0.15 to 0.25 per cent following RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan's tough talk last month.
