PM Modi launches jobs website, National Career Service portal
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the National Career Counselling Portal on July 20
- It is an endeavour to modernise all government-run employment exchanges
- The facility is a part of the government’s focus on skilling and employment generation aims to create a direct market place for workers and employers
- By implementing new portal, it will be supported by a web of interconnected Career Centres where prospective candidates can come for counselling free of cost from government certified counselors and psychologists
India among top nations with disaster-related displacements
- India is among top three countries after the Philippines and China in disaster-related displacement , a Norway-based global humanitarian group's report
- According to the report large number of people were forced to flee their homes due to disasters as 19.3 million people were displaced globally last year alone
- From 2008 to 2014 an estimated one person every second has been displaced by a disaster according to the Global Estimates 2015 -
- The report is released by the Norwegian Refugee Council's Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC)
Bhanu Pratap Sharma given additional charge as FSSAI chairperson
- Health and Family Welfare Secretary Bhanu Pratap Sharma was given additional charge of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Chairperson
- He will be the incharge of FSSAI for three months
Sharma, a 1981 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, will hold the additional charge for three months beyond July 3 or till the appointment of a regular incumbent, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT)
