Govt sets up panel to consider declassification of Netaji files
An inter-ministerial committee, headed by Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth, has been set up by the government.Main responsibility of committee will be to  look at the possibility of declassification of all files related to death or disappearance
of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose nearly 70 years back.Family Member of Subhash chandra Bose requested Prime Minister of India  to declassify all files related to events since his death or disappearance in Taiwan on August 18, 1945.Sources said among nearly 90 classified files relating to Bose, around 27 are with the Ministry of External Affairs while rest with the Prime Minister’s Office.

Janata Parivar merges with Mulayam as chief
Six parties of Janata Parivar on Wednesday decided to merge and form a new party with Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh as its president. 
Parties included are
Janata Dal-Secular, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Indian National Lok Dal, Samajwadi Janata Party, Janata dal united, Samajwadi Party

Indian Military contingent to march on Mascow Victory day in Mascow on 9 May
A 70-member marching contingent of the Grenadiers Regiment from the Indian Army will take part in 2015 Moscow Victory Day Parade at Red Square on 9 May. Ministry of Defence Made announcement. As per Russian news agency TASS, President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, will also take part in the Moscow celebrations. Because of the recent annexation of Crimea from Ukraine by Russia, none of the Western leaders who attended in 2010 is expected to attend this year’s parade. German President Angela Merkel is however scheduled to visit Moscow on 10 May, a day after the Victory Day parade.

Assamese Filmmaker Bidyut Chakraborty passes Away
Renowned Assamese filmmaker and actor Bidyut Chakraborty breathed his last today in a private nursing home in Guwahati after brief illness. In his film career he had directed several Assamese movies including Goon Goon Gaane Gaane, Dwaar and Raag-Biraag. His directorial film Rag-Birag is based on a novel written by Jnanpith award-winner Mamoni Raisom Goswami. Apart from direction, Chakraborty acted in several Assamese movies and serials.

New Visa Scheme Re named as E – tourism Visa 
Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has renamed Tourist Visa on Arrival-Electronic Travel Authorization scheme (TVoA-ETA) to e-Tourist Visa with effect from 15 April 2015. With this ambiguities faced by foreign tourists especially by scheme’s nomenclature VoA, presuming that they would be granted visa on arrival upon landing will be removed. e-Tourist Visa Scheme is a pre-authorization of Visa to foreigners that being given prior to travel. TVoA-ETA was launched in November 2014. It had enabled Electronic Travel Authorization to 44 countries at nine airports across India.
Government plans two national centres for the elderly people
The Union Health Ministry is planning to set up two national centres for Ageing at the
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)
Madras Medical College in Chennai.
As part of the government’s focus on providing quality medical care to the elderly, 12 regional geriatric centres would also be set up in medical colleges across the country. “These National Centres for Ageing will be specialised centres of excellence for geriatric care. They will develop manuals for home care and provide training to specialists and formulate protocols in areas of elderly care. The two centres would have 200 beds and also have 15 seats for post-graduate course in geriatric medicine.
