Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu roads are the most unsafe : NCRB

  • According to the datas published by the National Crime Records Bureau's Death's and Suicides (NCRB), Uttar Pradesh (16,284 died) and Tamil Nadu (15,190 died) have the unsafe road
  • The record shows Sixteen Indians died in road accident every hour in 2014 in which 25% in  two wheeler and others in overspeeding, overtaking
  • The result are published on July 17 shows slight increase in traffic accidents and slight decline in suicide
  • 1.41 Lakh people died in road accident in last year which shows slight hike in the number
  • After Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh Maharashtra has the third position in death count by more than 13,529

Demand of PC's decline in Urban Area in India : New Data released

  • Based on the datas released by Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) and Indian Market Research Bureau (IMRB) shows a decline in PC sales and increase in the rural areas.
  • The data shows the Urban area reached a saturation point and in rural areas it increased due to Digital India and Growth in bankin services and education services.
  • In Uraban areas the sales of PC decreased by 4% and notebook by 15% and in Rural areas desktop increases by 33% and  notebook by 11%
  • In Uraban areas the rate declines due to the availability of smart phones with larger screen with multiple features
  • The increase in rural areas shows the initiatives on the smart India 

IIS officer Prashant Pathrabe appointed FTII director

  • Senior IIS officer has been given additional charge as Director of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII)
  • Prashant Pathrabe, a 1992 batch officer of Indian Information Service (IIS), has been given temporary charge as Director of the FTII by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry
  • His appointment as Director of FTII comes at a time when the institute is in major controversy with students boycotting classes after government announced its decision to appoint Chauhan as the head of its governing council
  • The students' strike against Chauhan's appointment entered its 36th day

Human Right situation has improves in Srilanka : UK Report

  • The Human Right situation has improved after President Maithripalatakes charge of the office according to the report by the UK government's Foreign and Commonwealth Office
  • The report says a number of positive steps were taken for managing human right and democracy
  • Srilanka establish new institution and undertaking legal reforms even though some problems are remaining
  • The government announced the reopening of the several murder including Parliamentarians and journolists
  • Also the unofficial Ban over Tamil National Anthem is withdrawn

Government Gives Nod to India-Canada Civil Aviation Pact

  • The government approved the signing of a pact between India and Canada to enhance technical knowledge in the field of civil aviation and deepen bilateral cooperation between them
  • The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
  • The pact also seeks to foster greater commercial and economic cooperation between the two countries
  • The pact could benefit Indian firms  as the technical section of Canadian companies as aviation industry is far more developed in Canada

Qatar is the richest Country in the World: Global Finance Magazine

  • Qatar is the richest country in the world, according to an analysis by the Global Finance Magazine
  • Based on data from the IMF, the magazine ranked the world's countries according to their GDP per capita and determined the poorest and richest ones
  • The analysis also used a Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) basis which takes into account the living cost and inflation rates, in order to compare living standards between the different nations
  • The Democratic Republic of Congo is the poorest country in the world over the 2010-2013 period
  • Luxembourg, Singapore, Norway and Brunei Darussalam are in the other nations in top five
  • India is placed in the 130th position in the list

Singer David-Troy Somerville dies

  • Co-founder and lead singer of ’50s rock ‘n’ roll band The Diamonds’ David-Troy Somerville has died in Santa Barbara, California
  • He co-founded rock ‘n’ roll band The Diamonds in 1953 with members of a vocal group
  • In 1961, Somerville quit The Diamonds to focus on a solo career under the name David Troy
  • Somerville has been honoured by five different music halls of fame – the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Doo Wop Music Hall of Fame, Vocal Group Hall of Fame, Doo Wop Hall of Fame of America and Rockabilly Hall of Fame
