Government to Launch Website to Help Trace Missing Children

  • The government launch a web platform for people to directly report, track and upload information on missing children.  11 children disappearing every hour in the country.
  • The first web portal will be launched by the Women and Child Development (WCD) Ministry. It will serve as a platform for people to not only report a missing child but also track the efforts towards his or her recovery.
  • The website, www.khoyapaya.gov.in, will answer all queries as to what action is to be taken when a child goes missing.
  • The website has three sections 'My child is missing', 'I have sighted a child' and 'Search a missing child'

Govt warns Nestle, brand ambassadors if Maggi fails Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) test

  • Maggi brand ambassadors including Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit on Monday were warned of action by the government if their advertisements for Nestle’s noodle were found to be misleading
  • The probe was expanded to test Maggi noodle samples from across the country and they  claimed that it has got tested samples in an external laboratory as well as in-house and the product has been found “safe to eat”
  • A case has already been lodged against Nestle India by UP food regulator FSDA in a Barabanki court in Uttar Pradesh over safety standards of its product Maggi

RBI Sets Cap for Banks Buying Other Lenders' Infrastructure Bonds

  • The Reserve Bank of India said on Monday that banks will be allowed to buy infrastructure bonds issued by other lenders only up to a maximum value of 2 per cent of the purchasing bank's Tier 1 capital.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged to improve India's creaking infrastructure and is aiming to provide housing for all by 2022.

UAE Employers' Registration for Indian Workers Made Mandatory

  • India has made it mandatory for employers of Indian workers and nurses in the UAE to register themselves online on a government website before hiring them.
  • The recruitment agencies which are authorized to recruit Indian nurses will not charge any fees towards recruitment expenses from them
  • The emigration of nurses for overseas employment in UAE will require prior emigration clearance from Protector of Emigrants' offices in India
